Even more....

Friday was a day gone bananas. I got up at 6 a.m. and drove Kevin all the way down to South Side RP Church because he is participating in the first high school age ECHO trip to Florida this year. There were about 25 others going down and I think it will be an excellent group. I am quite saddened that I’ll not be able to go to ECHO this year at all . I have gone to ECHO for the last 4 consecutive years, so this will be a different year for me. They left at about 8:30 and had about 10 hours drive to go on Friday, then Saturday they would drive another 10-12 hours before they would finally be there! So after I dropped him off and watched them leave, (I think I’m going to miss him at least a little bit) I drove up to Second RP Church where 2 of my other brothers – Sterling and Adriel - were while Mrs. Turner worked on graduation cakes for the graduation yesterday. I took Sterling and Adriel with me so she wouldn’t have to worry about taking care of them while she was trying to get something done. (Sterling and Adriel are at the Turners’ house while mom and dad are gone) We went first to the zoo, looked around at the new exhibits, then drove to the Children’s Museum and ate lunch. After looking around the Museum for several hours, Mrs. Turner called and told us that she was done and we went back to the church. As soon as I got home at around 5 p.m, I got ready for work, then worked until about 10:30 p.m. Getting home and sleeping for a few hours was wonderful, but then I had to be in to work again Saturday at 8 a.m.
Yesterday (Saturday) I worked like a mad man per se until 1 p.m. when I got off, drove home, changed my clothes, and drove to church. The church held a home school graduation which went off seamlessly even with 7 graduates (my “class” had 10). After a bit of cake and looking at the displays of the many things that the graduates have done over the years, I drove home. I changed into some work clothes and mowed our neighbor’s grass. Coming inside, I had a quick shower and got ready to go to dinner at Ruth Chris’s because I had been invited by a friend of mine whose dad had won $100 for a meal there. It was a totally wild experience! There were servers filling your water every 3-4 minutes and I’ll just say that the food was exquisite and the general atmosphere was very formal. I came home from dinner and started typing this gargantuan post!!

There's more....

Saturday began with mom and dad leaving here for a week in Colorado Springs, CO which means that I’m stuck here with my 3 oldest brothers, which might or might not prove to be safe! Thankfully I was off from work again (how wonderful and it’s only about my 5th day off since I got home a month ago!) and I went to an open house for a friend from work. I then drove all the way out to Belle Center Ohio to Nathaniel Pockras’s open house. Kevin (my brother) and Zachary and Allen Blackwood rode along with me and after we got there, we had some cake - yum. We stayed over night since it’s a 3 hour drive and then went to Belle Center RP Church for their service. Nathaniel really appreciated being able to see some of his friends, some of which he had not seen for almost a year ~ me . Following a quick lunch, we departed and came back to Indy.
Monday and Tuesday are a blur of work.
Wednesday morning I went over to Mrs. Costons’ home to pull more weeds and put some extra dirt in low spots in her flower gardens. In the afternoon, I drove Kevin up to Noblesville for a writing class and on the way home, once he was done, we stopped at the brand new MARSH store on 37. It is really, REALLY cool! It’s organized by category of food and is formed almost like a mall with a “room” being assigned a category and pathways all through the rooms. The produce section was filling the whole middle area. Needless to say, I would love to work in a store like that!! Once we got home, I turned around and left again, going up to Carmel library to meet with Rutledge Etheridge for our every other week meeting referring to Bible study, prayer and the daily disciplines a Christian needs to have in place in their life.
Thursday morning I went to Mrs. Costons’ home again to finish the job I began on Wednesday – pulling weeds, leveling flower gardens, and also I picked up sticks through out her whole yard. Finally it was looking good and I got to come home, but not for long. After a shower and lunch I headed to Marsh for basically the rest of the day.

Ok, after a week (make that two weeks) and only 2 posts...

I think it's about time I decide to post again, and only partly because you all are so anxious to know what I’ve been up to. Yes I’ve been quite busy, but that really is a pretty lame excuse for not updating a little bit more often. From now on, I’ll try to be a tiny bit more frequent with posts. How’s that sound? Right now, I’ll try to cover some of the “million” things I’ve done since my last post. So here goes….
Sunday we went to church and in the evening service I shared about my experiences at ALERT.
Then Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I worked a whole bunch. Thursday morning before work, I went to my orthodontist and got my braces fixed up so for almost a week, my teeth have been rather sore.
Friday I was off from work and I went over and did some weeding for Mrs. Coston, a neighbor of mine. In the evening, I went over to the Bright's house for the last CYA (Covenanter Young Adults) event of the semester. We had a cookout and then David Whitla led a Bible study on 1 Peter 5. While I was at ALERT I memorized the whole book of 1 Peter, so I knew the general idea of this chapter. He talked about how we are Sheep, Shepherds, and Soldiers in God's kingdom.

A long day...

Ok, so I didn't get up super early, only about 7a.m. along with the rest of my family. For a Saturday, that's pretty early! Today I (we) got to go to a wedding for a "grand"cousin - my dad's cousin's daughter. So as soon as we had gotten all the stuff we wanted and were all ready, we got in the car for the 4 hour or so drive to Evansville where the wedding was. On the way dad dropped some stuff of at a customer of his from work and then we made it to the wedding site about 30-45 minutes early (early is good). One cool thing about the setup of this wedding was that we all sat around tables during the ceremony so there wouldn't have to be any extra setup before the reception. Nice planning! It was a nice (but definitely short compared to the ones Dr. Blackwood does) fancy wedding and there were about 200 people there by best guess. We hardly knew anyone that was there except for Grandpa, Grandma, her sister, a couple of her kids, and the bride that we sort knew. It's sad going to a wedding and realizing that you basically know no one! Following the wonderful reception meal and cake :) we loaded back in the van for the drive home. By this time it was about 6p.m. and since traffic was nonexistent, dad let Kevin (you better be scared now) drive for about the first 3 hours on the way home!! He surprisingly did a great job though; surviving his driving, we actually made it home too!

The start of my First and only Blog...

And to add to that, my first post! How fun!
Now I can daily update y'all on what I'm up to... and well, anything else I decide to type! :)

Today, similar to yesterday (isn't it funny how days can seem so similar?), I got to work.
Imagine that, working 2 days in a row. Actually ever since I got home from ALERT about a month ago, I have worked every single day except Sundays and 2-3 other days! Maybe that's why it seems I'm never home for dinner! Today I worked in the dairy department (which I really enjoy) and I stocked eggs and milk - roughly 180 dozen eggs and about 350 gallons of milk. I also put out a whole cart load of cheese etc. that came in the truck last night. I got to come home and eat my dinner about 8:30. Thankfully there was some left!
